DELTA, CO — (August 06, 2026) Delta Health announced today that its Home Health program will be absorbed by Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), effective October 1, 2026. This expansion will ensure Home Health patients continue to receive the much-needed services they rely on.
Delta Health currently works hand in hand with VOANS with the home health needs of patients discharged from the hospital, and will continue to work diligently with them over the next few months to transition clients and resources. The goal of this transition is to make the process as seamless as possible for both employees and clients — right down to the physical location remaining the same.
Delta Health and VOANS are working closely together and have given great consideration to the continued employment of Delta Health employees who will be impacted by this transition. Affected employees will be offered continued employment with either Delta Health or Volunteers of America National Services with the intent to mitigate loss of employment and to avoid interruption of these crucial home health services.
Home health services are critically important, especially in rural western Colorado, as they allow patients to recover safely in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, they support safe recovery in a familiar environment, and lower healthcare costs compared to inpatient hospital stays. Home health also prevents hospital readmissions by helping patients to effectively manage chronic conditions.
Delta Health and VOANS remain committed to ensuring that patients in our community continue to have uninterrupted access to these essential services throughout — and beyond — this transition.
