Housing for Health & Justice Fund

Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), announced that it has established a Housing for Health & Justice Fund to leverage the assets and expertise of VOANS to advance the solution to the national housing crisis of housing and health injustices. VOANS intends to raise $25 million of flexible, catalytic capital to support the organization’s commitment to improve the health and wellness of vulnerable Americans where they live---by providing a stable, safe and long-term solution of affordable housing.

VOANS and the national network of local VOA affiliates together will provide new construction properties and/or conversion/repurposing of units for underserved rural communities; increase affordable housing options in neglected urban areas for BIPOC households; include resident services in every new development project; insure broadband wireless internet access for every resident to support health & wellbeing; and enable seniors to age with options; and live with dignity. The Housing for Heath & Justice Fund will facilitate more than 2,000 units of housing with health supports being preserved or created. While VOANS operates across the country, the Fund’s key areas of focus are Northern California, DC Metro, Colorado, Texas, Twin Cities MN, Raleigh-Durham NC, and Puerto Rico.
