Scott Dueker

Scott Dueker, Director of Planning and Design,  is responsible for overseeing all aspects of design, engineering, project development and construction activities – from conceptual design through construction completion.  He provides design direction, technical assistance and recommendations for all site and project designs, timelines, construction management and budgeting. He oversees and manages all of VOANS project design standards and specifications. Scott’s focus is primarily on new construction, preservation, and substantial rehabilitation developments.

He worked closely with multiple state and federal agencies and designed and developed a vast portfolio of housing, healthcare and related projects specifically targeted to those who need it most.  Scott’s experience includes development of affordable/LIHTC housing, mixed-income communities, mixed-use developments, supportive housing, preservation, market-rate and workforce housing, as well as historic and brownfield redevelopments across all project types. Scott also sits on the Market Implementation Collaborators (MIC) advisory board which Is part of the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Building Construction with Energy-Efficient Technologies & Practices (ABC) Program.

Scott is an award-winning architect, receiving multiple AIA Design Awards throughout his career.  Prior to joining VOANS, Scott worked in private practice for Architectura PC Architects, retail development with Wegmans Food Markets Inc., and facilities planning with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he also guest-lectured in the School of Architecture during his tenure. Most recently, he served as Development Design Director for a large national affordable housing Developer where he oversaw projects with budgets in the range of $500k to $100 million. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Planning with a minor in Facilities Management at the University at Buffalo. He is a Registered Architect AIA, LEED AP, Certified Facilities Manager.
