Our Team
Pam Shilts, RN
Administrator
Pam, RN and administrator, has worked for VOANS in a variety of leadership roles for the past 24 years. Her primary clinical focus is geriatric care. Pam has been instrumental in the establishment of several new programs and services in Western Colorado over her tenure with the organization. She strives to uphold the VOANS mission every day — positively impacting the lives of individuals through affordable housing and compassionate care. Pam is also a VOA commissioned minister and is the recipient of a VOANS Ron Nolte Award and two Nightingale Awards.
Jamie Zarkis, LPN
Director of Clinical Services
Jamie began his career working for Valley Manor Care Center, a VOANS owned long-term care and rehabilitation care center, as an LPN and is now a 30-year veteran of the organization. He is a life-long Colorado resident, originally from Silverton and has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including hospital, skilled nursing, and home health. Jamie enjoys working in home health so he can see a patient in their home setting and provide care for that individual uninterrupted — giving each person his full attention.
Jami Atchley, RN
Assistant Director of Clinical Services
Jami attended Colorado Christian University and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has worked in a variety of home health services and is also currently a nursing instructor at the Technical College of the Rockies in Delta. Starting in 2026, Jami will be studying for her masters degree through Grand Canyon University. She believes in the power of providing compassionate care to patients of all ages and instills this principle in her co-workers. Her hobbies include painting, reading, wood working, writing, and baking.
Amiessa Jutten, MSW
Social Worker
Amiessa, MSW has a BA degree in psychology from Colorado Mesa University and a MSW from Colorado State University. Her areas of expertise are medical social work, grief support, end-of-life care, and mental health therapy. She was born in east Texas and moved to Montrose when she was 16. Amiessa is passionate about supporting people in their home environment. In her free time, she enjoys making cheesecakes, rock hounding, making jewelry, traveling, and spending time with family enjoying the outdoors.
