Welcome to Senior CommUnity Meals
A nourishing meal is just the beginning.
At Senior CommUnity Meals, our staff and volunteers are dedicated to helping older adults in Delta, Colorado and beyond live healthier lives. We serve nutritious pre-packaged meals at various pick up sites and offer homebound meal delivery – offering each with a generous helping of companionship.
Last year, we served more than 100,000 nutritious meals to 2,600 senior Coloradans over a 4,600 square-mile area including communities in Delta, Cedaredge and Paonia. Many of the older clients we provide nourishing meals for are the very farmers who fed our communities years ago. Without the meals we deliver, they and others in our program would have no food to eat.
Our mission to ensure older adults don’t go hungry grows out of respect for the human spirit, and the belief that the right to dignity doesn’t diminish with age. At Senior CommUnity Meals, our philosophy can be summed up simply: we care for those we serve like we’d care for members of our own family.
Call Senior CommUnity Meals at our Delta, CO headquarters today to learn about eligibility requirements for you or someone you know. We look forward to assisting you!
Homebound Meal Delivery
If you’re 60 years of age or older and have been assessed as homebound, you can enjoy hot, nutritious meals delivered right to your door by friendly, dedicated Senior CommUnity Meals volunteers.
In addition to age and homebound-status requirements, other criteria for eligibility apply in specific, limited circumstances. To learn if you or someone you know is eligible for homebound meal delivery, call or email us today.
Starting July 1, 2024, clients who have been receiving frozen meals from Senior CommUnity Meals will begin receiving Mom’s Meals delivered by UPS/FedX. The local Mom’s Meals program will be managed by Region 10. Senior CommUnity Meals will no longer be producing frozen meals.
To inquire about qualifying for the Mom’s Meals, please contact Joe Walker at Jwalker@region10.net or 970-765-3147.
Participants, Contributors and Volunteers
Senior CommUnity Meals is a donation-based program. We’re grateful for all grants and donor gifts we receive that allow us to help older adults. Region 10 Area Agency on Aging is our primary funding source.
Because of this generosity, no person aged 60 and older will be denied service for unwillingness or inability to make a voluntary contribution for meals they receive.
We depend on volunteers to help sort and deliver homebound meals in our program. Won’t you join us? Call or email us today.
