December 20, 2023 – Thank you to Ralph Marshall, a resident at The Preserve Senior Living, and his wife, Maggie Marshall, for taking the time to share their story to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and its nonlinear path in this Alzheimer’s Awareness article. November 27, 2023 – We’re excited to share that Volunteers of America was featured on FOX News Channel, the top-rated national news network, yesterday afternoon. Our very own Lee Goldstein, Director of Housing Initiatives, did a three-minute interview on the innovative ways we are providing affordable housing for homeless veterans. From refurbished shipping containers to repurposed tiny homes, VOA is developing accessory dwelling units in multiple communities across the country, working to provide cutting-edge housing solutions for our nation’s heroes. November 9, 2023 – Presenting The Oaks, our newest senior housing project just delivered in Dallas. 260 mixed-income rental units serving primarily lower-income seniors in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, featuring luxury amenities, improved public infrastructure, resident services, technology and health supports for aging in place, and a community health clinic, not to mention a great view of downtown from the roof deck! October 18, 2023 – Cadence is a 55-unit senior apartment building developed by Volunteers of America – National (VOANS) offering one- and two-bedroom apartments at 20-80% AMI, with an average AMI of 51%, demonstrating deep affordability. The building was designed to meet a critical need for senior housing in Fort Collins and support the independence and well-being of residents as they age in place. August 31, 2023 – The Homestead at Anoka, The Homestead at Maplewood and The Homestead at Rochester ended the summer with a TaleGate event – bringing the fair to their residents, staff and families. August 14, 2023 – The Preserve in Fort Myers is a boutique assisted living and memory care community in Fort Myers. Not only is it home to many seniors who need health care services as they age, but they also offer outpatient rehabilitation services for nonresidents. After a major illness, injury, or surgery, doctors often prescribe rehabilitation to help patients transition back to daily life and activities safely, and this is especially true for seniors.
